An uncertain fuchsia

A very ordinary day made extraordinary by the news about Huw Edwards. I had already got wind that the BBC presenter at the centre of an assortment of allegations made by the Sun newspaper might be him, but, still, it was shocking to find out that it was true. The whole business is very sad, for him, for his family, for his friends and for his colleagues. Perhaps, in the fullness of time, there will be more clarity about what has actually happened but it is clear that he has behaved in some very strange ways and that his mental health is seriously affected and has been for some time. I hope he can get better but I think it's unlikely that we will see him on the BBC again. Truly a sad business.
