Blackshaw Hill Cup and Ring Stone

It's been a glorious day today.
Got the grass cut and after lunch we decided to take the dog up the hill instead of the beach.
We've been meaning to find the Blackshaw Cup and Ring stone for a while as Robs been getting into his history stuff after reading lots of horrible histories with Thom.
It was a bit of an impromptu walk and we set off round the hill at the back of the house and followed the path. It's a gorgeous walk, and another one we can't believe it's taken us 7 years to discover. We eventually found the stone on the other side of the wall from the path. It's amazing to think that these were made by someone thousands of years ago in Neoliothic times for some unknown reason. The circles are very exact in their shape and you can just make out the rings in the picture above.
Quite a cool thing to find on what has been a rather good weekend.
