A day in the life

A day of showers and wind has controlled my doings. Mostly playing indoors, looking out on the drama outside.

In the summer months of late June until early August there are a lot of concerts in this area. The churches arrange small concerts, there's something happening every evening, plus all the other venues on the mainland and on Öland, big and small. Thos evening I chose to  listen to a concert with mostly ABBA songs, meaning music by Benny Andersson who wrote all their music and Björn Ulvaeus who wrote the lyrics. plus some other music s well. The impressive bit was that at three o'clock this afternoon their singer announced that she was forbidden to sing by her doctor and had to stay in bed. The band leader called a friend of his and asked if she could stand in for the sicko, she could. The rehearsed in church for three hours and could keep most of the songs originally in the program and added a few that the new singer knew better. These people are all semi professional, but it's still impressive to pull through a quite complicated concept and still come out as winners of the audience in the end. 248 people came to listen, the church is full when there's a 150 but everyone squeezed a bit and extra chairs was brought in.

When we all got out of church, there had just been a shower, when  the sun broke through, giving us a magnificent double rainbow to complete the experience.
