Lavender

A dreary, cool and wet day.

Despite all the rain the little carder bumblebees continued to feast on the lavender nectar. Photographing them is not easy - they are on each flower less than a second. They cannot be accused of posing.

We’ve been watching a lot of tennis on TV this last two weeks, and this afternoon was no exception. Two enjoyable men’s semi-finals. The final on Sunday should be good. And the first night of the BBC Proms was terrific. So despite the weather, it’s been an OK day. I even had time to have a look through one of my birthday books.
