Tinganes

After we'd packed and walked to the bus station in Tórshavn, we still had almost three hours to wait for the airport bus. I took a stroll around some of the centre, including Tinganes (pictured) where the parliament sits. Behind the building on the left is a smaller turf-roofed building with a door proclaiming "Office of the Prime Minister", next to the "Office of the Finance Minister". Downing Street it isn't...

It takes about five minutes to go from the bus, through security and into the departure lounge at Vágar Airport. There we found the HB Tórshavn squad waiting to take our flight to Edinburgh en route for their second leg tie at Derry City. The Faroes is a village... In the duty free I saw bottles of Faroe Islands whisky for the first time, but £120 for a 50cl bottle of 7-year-old was more than a little steep!

Back in Scotland, we collected Django from the friends who have been looking after him, and I'm about to take him for a walk
