A day in the life

Sand

I was in Kalmar to do some errands this afternoon and visited the sand-sculpture contest by the beach. The works are absolutely wonderful, I'll give you all the contestants here. They are in the last lap of finishing their work, tomorrow is the last day and they are all inte the fine detail. They say the sand here is excellent, it sticks together nicely and is easy to work with. Every team mix their sand with the amount of water they want to work with and when the structure is in place, they use a spray that I don't know what it is, to keep the surface hard. There is always the risk of a structure collapsing though. These  people do know what they are doing and most of them has been in many contests before this one.

This is the only contest of its kind in Sweden and is it's 10 year anniversary in Kalmar. The contestants are from Sweden, Norway, England, Mongolia, Latvia, Netherlands. The main is my favourite (notice the small brain in front), followed by the camel. Who do you like the most? I'll tell you tomorrow who won.
