Early Morning Conversation

I was about six feet away from this little bird before she startled and flew away, both of us enjoying the foggy morning. Mr S and I went up to campus and had a good walk through the meadows and redwoods before it got too hot. I even got a couple hours of weeding done. The poppies have all gone to seed and I made a big show of gathering all those tiny little dots, but the truth is they will grow wherever they feel like it next year, and all my scattering doesn’t accomplish much.
