All Quiet on the...

..Waterfront...

A lovely Sunday morning..peaceful, and quiet..but for the call of a loon or the splash of a fish jumping.. Of course, the quiet did not last..

A sunny summer weekend in cottage country? Quiet? Not!  On a day like this it doesn't take long for the speedboats, jet skis, yachts, runabouts, and pontoon boats to come out and break the silence! .....an endless parade of watercraft roaring by, leaving a barrage of waves in their wake breaking onto the rocks and beaches out front. How fortunate we are to have our little bay out back where all remains relatively calm...not far from the madding crowd, but far enough...

PS: Sadly, all was definitely not quiet on the waterfront in Nova Scotia this weekend. They had three months' worth of rain fall in one day causing severe flooding and loss of life. I was worried about my friend Pat who lives in Bedford NS, the town that was hard hit and featured on the news..She and fellow residents had to be evacuated not too long ago as a wildfire was heading straight at them..and now this?...Geez! People were evacuated again, but she said she was spared that this time as her apartment building sits on ground high enough to be out of danger. Others were not so lucky. These weather disasters are becoming so frequent..it is scary...
