To the lighthouse

The weather forecast today was one of the best before we leave Anglesey so we decided last night to head to South Stack today and the forecast proved to be right with blue skies as we headed to the north of the island. We arrived there at about ten and got parked with a view for Mum and well ahead of the hordes that followed. We have been to South Stack on all three of our visits to Anglesey but this is the first time that we have been down to (and up) the lighthouse itself. 400 steps down and 100 up the lighthouse itself and blue skies all the way. I do love a lighthouse. New fact learned today: the 'character' of a lighthouse is used to describe the particular pattern of light or eclipses. South Stack's light repeats every 10 seconds and can be seen 20 miles away. The journey back up the 400 steps was breathtaking in a different way...

Back to Mum and Bailey and then we had something to eat on a bench at the RSPB Centre before walking down to Elin's Tower. 123 photos taken in total which will be the record for the holiday, I think. I have apparently also walked up 57 floors today versus just 8 yesterday.

We came back to the cottage via Oriel Mon in Llangefni, taking turns to sit outside in the sun with Bailey. It was worth a visit with paintings by Welsh artists and then back to our cottage to download photos and sit out in the garden in the sun.
