Busy, busy, busy

We had a very busy but satisfying day today.  We flattened all the packing paper so we could flatten the boxes ready for collection.  MrMacD also unwrapped all the paintings so the bubble wrap could be collected too.  The lady who runs the removal company in Timaru turned up and managed to pack all the boxes, all the bubble wrap and most of the paper into her car.  It was quite an incredible feat.  She’ll be back next week to collect the last of the paper and the box it’s sitting in.  At least all the boxes and packing paper are out of the house now and it really is starting to look like a home.  There’s only the big fridge to move downstairs now, and the Timaru lady is going to arrange for that to be done.

We also had a delivery of logs for our wood burner, courtesy of A and J, who we were put in touch with by our lovely Blipper friend, Mima.  We haven’t paid them yet, but they know where we live!  Mima has been extremely helpful and the move would have been a lot more difficult and stressful without her help.  We can’t thank her enough, and Bean too, of course.  MrMacD managed to move all the logs into a big dry space under the house while I roasted pumpkin, parsnips and beetroot, caramelised some onion and made buttermilk for a soda bread recipe he planed to make for supper.  After the vegetables were roasted, we Pumpkin and Parsnip Soup [the pumpkin courtesy of my sister-in-law, and the parsnip courtesy of Blipper Mima.  The soup and soda bread were delicious, but I kept a few pieces of roasted parsnip as they’re lovely to nibble.

I managed to “claim” a Prezzy Card for signing up to our broadband, and downloaded an eVoucher paid for with some Airpoints I was going to lose otherwise, despite the WiFi playing up.  Thankfully the WiFi has settled down now but there were definitely cross words this morning.

I sneakily took a couple of photos from the kitchen window of MrMacD putting the logs away but I think he saw me, and they’re a bit blurry because of the reflections on the window.
