A Super Silly Saturday

There was a plan B in place for our singing today at Hebden Bridge’s Steam Punk event as the forecast was for extremely heavy rain. Thankfully we were able to go with Plan A and sing in the town market place as the predicted rain was miraculously minimal.
Arriving by bus it was fine as we headed for the town centre market to get something to eat. Shortly after the dance group ‘400 Roses’ started their performance accompanied by their own band. Described as belly dancers the all female troupe combined their moves with more traditional Morris style dancing. Extra

Dark clouds were building by the time of our performance but after a short light shower it stopped. We had a fun sing which seemed to go down well and then we all headed to the pub!
The collage shows some of our number who had dressed up for the occasion including Chris borrowing some else’s hat!

It was great fun and the bus home dropped us off in our village.

There is another steam punk event in Haworth later in the year but sadly we’ll be away so glad we made it today. Raining quite heavily now but we’ve had a great day out without getting wet!
