Yew "Berries" ( Taxus baccata )

Visiting Kanyl to strim his "meadow".  After that was completed while mowing the lawn I spotted the first fruits of his fastigiate Yew.  I always like the contrast between the green of the leaves and the berries.  In this case yellow leaves as it is a "golden" variety.

It is safest to consider all parts of the Yew as poisonous to humans(there is one part which isn't).  The leaves and bark have been used in developing Taxol (used to treat some types of cancer) and other drugs.  Most people know about the wood being used for bows in olden times, now as a decorative wood it is used in furniture, flooring,woodturning etc.
