Day at a Time

Whaligoe Steps

Some of the 300+ steps which go down the cliff side to the sea. What a hard life the men and women who worked on the fish had. I'm so glad we visited on a warm, sunny day. Down, then up again, was a lovely walk if slightly strenuous. I've wanted to visit for ages and I was impressed.

We moved on to Lybster and had a walk at the harbour. There were five or six people swimming. Now we're making for Brora again and the last night of the holiday.

The ferry last night was great. Not nearly as many cabins as the ferries on the Shetland run but there were a few other overnighters. A smooth crossing to Scrabster and a chance to watch Hoy retreat as we sailed by. At 08:01 we were the first vehicle off the the ferry. Result!

Looking forward to a night in Brora and some time on the beach. A treat for the final night before home.
