Just The One

Just the one in this picture anyway - there was a rather large flock of them nipping in and out of the hedge first thing this morning.

There was no washing on the line this morning - just a corpse.
I actually went out there to get a shot or two of the Japanese Anemone which are beginning to burst into flower. 
They are quite popular with the insects - but I have no idea what this one was doing behind the usual food source.
Talking of behind -- The backs of the flowers are rather hairy.

I had 'fun' (for want of clean description) making a 'vase' of sorts from a very oddly shaped piece of wood.
It kept coming loose from the chuck and refused to go back on without having a wobble.
But I got it done - and after lunch decided that I didn't like the top so it was back out to change the shape.
It is much better now and is currently sitting soaking up some oil and with be shot in the next day or two.
It took a lot longer than it should because both of the neighbours  next door came (independently) to give me an update on our neighbour who was taken to hospital a couple of days ago. It is not looking good and he is going to get a brain scan to see if the cancer has spread there.
