Ditsworthy Warren House

I met up with my photo pal John this afternoon. We met at Cadover Bridge and walked down the river Plym through Dewerstone woods. There was lots of water coming down and lovely mossy boulders in the river but it was quite bright and contrasty for most of the time. We'd arranged to have a pint and a bite to eat at the Burrator Inn so headed off there.

After that we carried on to Sheepstor and walked to Ditsworthy Warren House. The 'warren' bit of the name refers to the keeping of rabbits for food and it's very apparent from the shape of the land as you get closer. it's an extremely remote place even for Dartmoor.

The farmhouse was used as the farm in the movie 'War Horse'. It's grade 2 listed and although the attached buildings are in a state of disrepair, the house itself is secure and appears to be kept weathertight. The sun was very low as we got there and my blip is taken 'contre jour' and I quite like the sunburst.
