Looking downstream…..

……. Towards the town centre early this morning. There is a footbridge in the mid-distance; the Beaver Road footbridge. Interestingly many years ago Blenheim was known as “Beavertown”. That was because the then small town was constantly flooded during heavy rains. That was well before the rivers were controlled by a stopbank system and later the Taylor Dam, built as a flood retention dam.
Later this morning I went to pastel painting at the Art Centre. …. Then lunch with friends later.
