A view from Jeanneb

York Gate

At last we have made it to York Gate. I’ve been intending a visit since Spring if not before when hearing about it from Mambo last year.
It was on Gardeners World last week so I knew it would be busy but I didn't want to put it off again. We were there early enough for a parking space and a table on the terrace at the cafe to get or morning coffee.

A delightful place to visit. It’s a National Heritage garden created in the second half of the 20th century. Not very big but a different feel to each area (room) as we moved through them with lots of green from tree ferns and interesting trees with focal points and hidden places to sit to enjoy them.
I liked the mix of summer flowers here in front of the pond also surrounded by colourful planting.

It was worth the wait to visit, you would never know you were anywhere near a city. Perhaps we will return in the Spring.
