Set Fair

Smithers had a poor night with little sleep I'm afraid. However, we were very impressed to receive a phone call from the surgeon this afternoon, asking how he was. He then said he would like to see him today, and came specially to our local hospital to check him over on his way home from operating all day elsewhere. He was assigned an unused consulting room in the urology department, as an emergency measure, but fortunately the staff wheeled in the necessary opthalmic equipment!

Many more drops were applied, and tablets administered, and we were sent home with more, to add to the ones I’m already giving him. I have had to create a spreadsheet to help me give him the right eye drops and tablets at the right time for the next six weeks.

By this time we were both exhausted, and very grateful that our middle son had driven us to the hospital and back at a busy time when the car park was seething. He went home bearing gifts for our youngest granddaughter, who was four today. Sadly we didn’t get to see her and her sister but we’ll make up for it as soon as Grandpa is better.

In desperation I’ve grabbed this shot with my phone. We bought this bowl in the Old Courthouse Gallery in Ambleside and it depicts all the shipping forecast sea areas. I’m very much hoping that things are Set Fair in this household for the next few days!
