Capital adventures

Summer returned

A couldn't sleep for anticipating problems and eventually got the laptop and did the Choir and Apex admin. That made me feel slightly better.

Once up a programme change for a Sunday morning with no Coffee Club, Decided to do the Cat Run first, which turned out to be a good decision. A bit of cloud and wind but nevertheless a fine day.

Drove out to Dalkeith Country Park where the parking was already busy. Loads of families, dogs and children. The place was buzzing.

I was there to tour the Palace now being opened up more since the use by the US Uni has ended. The guide was American (coincidence) and very flamboyant. The house is empty and in places has been butchered by previous tenants. The Buccleuch family have not lived there since 1914. There was a lot of history and the Palace certainly has potential. It will be interesting to see what they do with it.

The tour overran slightly so it was nearly 1 before I came back out into blue skies and warm sunshine.  Got home and changed into summer togs before going next door for the BBQ. And what a day, perfect weather. There were a 11 neighbours, do 14 of us. Y and G's garden, like mine, is South facing and sheltered so it was glorious being in the sun, eating, drinking and socialising. And we played games. Our team won the petanque!

Back home, with leftovers, I spoke to J about a care issue, saw a beautiful sunset and went to bed, early.
