He's home!

Smithers was brought home from hospital by our eldest son at 6.45 pm this evening, looking frail but very happy to be home. I can't describe how happy I am to have him back.

I spent the day cooking his favourite foods, and the look on his face was an absolute picture when he drank that first cup of tea and then ate a light supper of home made quiche and salad, followed by a Nutty Joy ginger oaty biscuit.

We still have a long haul ahead of us to get him fit enough for his second eye operation next Wednesday, but for now it's just good that he's home. He will definitely enjoy getting into his own bed tonight for the first time in a week!
