An ordinary life....

Minnie the Minx...

What a day it's been.  Hot!  Hot!  Hot!

Alan had another settled night and was smiling and giggling when he got up.  We felt relaxed at D playing golf with Kenny after dropping me at Ele's.

Had lunch with Ele and Jen in the garden, in fact we spent our entire visit in the garden.  Wonderful.

Andrew was off down south with friends to the 30th birthday party of an old friend so Nikki arrived with Esme (and their greyhound Bonnie) after school.  She has settled in well at school but has discovered that if she asks to go to the loo she can have a little wander round the school and at nosey at other classrooms!  What a girl.  That's now being nipped in the bud!

We had a really lovely afternoon.  I settled myself in the shade under a tree.

D and Kenny returned from the golf just after 6pm.  D hadn't played particularly well but had enjoyed the afternoon regardless.  Kenny got the BBQ fired up and we enjoyed a rather delicious feast of BBQ'd goodies, followed by meringues, strawberries and cream.

We were still sitting outside at 8pm even though it was dark!  Thank goodness for the security light that kept us illuminated.

D got a text from Blake to say Alan was fine and had enjoyed some time in the garden this afternoon but had experienced a couple of episodes of pain late afternoon and one early evening.  He'd had his painkillers and was settled again but wanted an early night.  We decided to head home to see him before bed but missed him by about 5 mins!

Today is only the first day of his new antibiotics so hopefully tomorrow will see a step forward.  If he's still having these pain episodes at the start of the week then it will be back to the GP for further advice / plan for investigations.
