Farewell – for now

We took my brother back up the mountains this evening; he has work tomorrow in the small holding. It was an hour’s drive up to Kalaydzhii, then 5km before turning off on to this track. We stopped at a tiny bar in Kalaydzhii to meet the proprietor; my brother stops there for his sustenance on his long walks.

He had another 8km to walk, but we walked around 800m with him to see some of the beauty of the forests and mountains around his journey. We could leave no later because we had the steep and winding road back down to Zlataritsa which I wanted to do in the light.
