Stunning

Beautiful day for our trip to Fife. Collected LE early and we headed across the bridge….although then hit a haar. Quick change in the order of our day to go to Bowhouse farmers market first. Tried the gins and the jams and etc and bought some coffee, gorgeous tomatoes and strawberries then headed to Crail and enjoyed a wander, a paddle and sat on the beach soaking up what was by then the warm sunshine. Heaven….just the right temperature with a warm breeze. Just after 12 the queue formed at the lobster shack and we joined it and decided on a crab and a lobster to share. Very basic, just them and a claw cracker and pokey things…no salad or chips or etc to detract from the freshness of the seafood. We found a table in the sun on the harbour wall and got stuck in….absolutely delicious! We ate in concentrated silence, then retreated to clean ourselves up in the nearby bathroom. Great lunch.
Pootled round the village and I bought a millionaires shortbread for dessert then we drove to the start of the chain walk at Elie and tackled that. Really enjoyed it, as I’d done early this year with T, as it has the perfect balance of exhilarating and terrifying, with great views and a sense of getting some serious exercise.
We walked back along the top of the cliffs and drove round to the village centre to enjoy a couple of pints at the beach bar overlooking the beach, with a cricket match in progress to cheer and clap (not that we really understand the rules!). We were properly tired but in a happy way, and planned some other trips and continued the chat about all sorts that had continued all day except whilst we’d been having lunch!
Dropped her at home then drove to A’s for salad mainly from her garden followed by strawberries, cream and the shortbread I made the other day.
