An Unusual Visitor

While I was hunting for bits to go in our garage sale today, this insect landed on the front of my wardrobe. I tried photographing it with my phone and my little Lumix and it didn’t seem at all camera shy - so I grabbed my big camera and macro lens. I also used a flash unit and diffuser screen.

I believe it to be an oak bush-cricket and I think it is a female! I don’t recall seeing one before.

We had a fairly quiet afternoon with the sale - managed to get rid of a few bulky items! Which means we have a smaller load to take to the charity shop or recycling centre (aka the tip).
