'Tis the Season...

of cold mornings, chilly nights and the occasional hot sunny day....

After a chilly start, it turned out to be a fabulous sunny autumn day.. a day for lounging in the hammock with a good book - and a quilt of course, in case of a brisk breeze arising and disturbing the stillness..which it did..eventually.. 

Earlier in the day, I had wandered about the island in search of blip photo-ops for an "autumn" theme, (extra) which seemed appropriate in light of the recent north winds and cold temps we have been experiencing. I did find some possibilities -  sunlight glittering on the water..the way it does at this time of year, a few leaves that have turned red, some purple asters and of course, goldenrod..I had not expected that the day would be sunny and warm enough to warrant the hammock! But that is another autumn treat here.. snuggling up in a quilt outdoors on the dock or in a hammock!

Late afternoon found me indoors again, glued to the TV for the women's final match at the US Open...a great way to wrap up my day... 

Fingers crossed for another lovely day tomorrow..not sure the odds are good for two in a row though...
