INTRODUCING OUR TWO NEW MEMBERS

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Leighton here - we heard that Mr. and Mrs. HCB were going out for coffee to Jack’s this morning, so decided to tag along, because we also heard that they would be going into Leightons to see the lovely people in there.

We thought that for all of us to go would be a step too far, so I had to go, of course, being named after the HCBs’ favourite opticians, and of course, JH Ted, being the founder member of the Silly Saturday Gang had to go too.  Then of course, we decided that the two new members of the Gang should go, so that they could be introduced to the lovely people at Leightons.

They didn’t realise that they would be asked to wear glasses of some description and although Purple Owl was willing to participate, David the Dog wasn’t that keen on wearing what he called “Silly glasses”, especially as it was raining outside!  There’s always one!  David climbed up to a higher shelf and in fact, nearly slipped off - perhaps he needs glasses after all!

Anyway, after being introduced to Wendy, Lauren and Adam, we wondered where Kate, the Manager was - and were told that she was in a meeting.  Really, when she knew we were coming in?  Ah well, guess we will have to take PO and D the D back up some other time.

There was a lot of ooh-ing and ah-ing when Lauren showed Mrs. HCB her engagement ring - apparently, her boyfriend got down on one knee and asked her to marry him - and of course, she said "Yes"!  The wedding is in 2025, so we wonder if the Silly Saturday Gang might get an invitation?  We can always hope!

Everyone at Leightons were pleased to see Mr. and Mrs. HCB and especially to see her walking without her rollator.  They said that they would tell Kate she was looking good - Mrs. HCB that is, not Kate, although she always looks good anyway!

Mrs. HCB was worn out this afternoon especially as she had walked quite a long way, so the last we saw of her she was slumped in front of the television watching some rubbish of her favourite programmes.  She does thank you for your kind comments, stars and hearts though and hopes to be back commenting very soon.

Take care, lovely Blippers, and don’t forget our motto:
“Be kind and if you can’t be kind, be silent!”

Love to you all,

Leighton, JH Ted, Purple Owl and David the Dog - named after the lovely Mr. T, who sadly died back in June and who belonged to him xxxx
