QUARRIES part 2

This is Sandside Quarry, the largest of the four in the AONB.
It is the only one still being worked.
Over several decades this has provided vast quantities of crushed limestone used especially in road building.

The entry is down at sea level and we have climbed about 300 feet to take this shot.

A beautiful day and only 8C when we left home.
