Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

My New Pet

That Tardigrade walked slowly, loving the rain yesterday.   It’s Winston my new pet, a birthday present from blipper friend Tookie, who knew all about these waterbears I only learned about when looking at and reading about moss on the island and blipped them this summer HERE (the kids article linked in this blip is better than a long scientific treatise) and HERE….because her smart grandson had written an essay on them, so she got him a stuffy.  Like this.  … They can withstand freezing and boiling and outer space and radiation and dehydration.    They don’t eat much,  veggie stuff,..walk slowly with their their 8 legs, and absorb water through their skin which molts.    And they are less than 1 mm long…you need a microscope to see them. (extra)   Maybe we will learn something about how to deal with climate change from them.   Winston was happy to find moss in my city patio.
Blippers are so fun!    Thank you Tookie!
