Wild

A leisurely start to the day and we spent quite a while during and after breakfast sitting watching the mist drift and lift and the light change over Loch Dunvegan. Beautiful muted autumnal colours and occasional shafts of bright sunshine piercing through the clouds. Ky and I decided to explore the local area and donned lots of waterproofs and headed out. It was very mild and we walked down to the lochside and walked along the beach, with its huge variety of different types of seaweed. The basalt(?) rocks were slippy but we managed on the pebbles and followed two sheep along the grass. Back along the little road as the rain started and we were glad of our waterproofs, but it was invigorating getting lashed with almost warm rain and buffeted by the wind.
It was good to get out of our wet things and we had some bits for lunch then relaxed again with some tea, books and the views.
I got a bit itchy after a while and thought I’d found a gallery that was open on Sunday so we drove up via Glendale to find it. Of course it was closed, and didn’t look that great anyway, but we were on the road to Neist Point so decided to go along and see it. G wasn’t up to the full walk (and it was very windy and threatening more rain) but we had a look around at the various views and I helped Ky wrestle her camera into giving her some good photos. We loved seeing the dramatic cliffs and long waterfalls dropping down them.
Home - along a mix of beautifully smooth resurfaced roads as well as stretches with potholes and cracks and checked out the opening times of various craft/art shops and cafes as we passed.
Time for a G&T when we got home as the rain started up again and lashed the windows. G watched a rerun of the F1 race whilst Ky read and I worked on my application to another Board.
G made a stir fry for supper then I continued on the application whilst they watched the rugby between Wales and Australia which seemed to be a good match from their reaction. Chatted to A then we all had a fairly early night.
Despite the weather a good day, filled with chat and catching up with them. Shame the Wi-Fi router seems to be broken so surviving on mobile connection…hope that holds out for the zoom calls I have this week.
