Life through the lens...

Comfort food

Just what we needed this evening  but first of all I must say a big THANK YOU for all your kind comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's Blip Birthday. I was so delighted to see I was no3 on popular page one. A great achievement for me.

We are now up at the caravan for a few days.
I can hear the wind blowing as storm Agnes passes over.

It has been a very trying day. MrC moved the car to clean the inside and we then loaded it up. That includes all bedding towels etc.
All ready for the off at 10.45am and the car wouldn't start. We phoned our breakdown insurers and they were very good and a man was with us in half an hour.
However we needed a new battery.
He got the car going and MrC drove it straight to our local garage.
Eventually we got a call to say it was ready and we set off at 4.30pm.
Got stuck in traffic between Leeds and Wetherby. So the journey took 1hr and 45mins.
Usually takes 45mins.
Quickly unpacked the car and made it to the pub just in time for our booking at 6.45pm.
We were certainly ready for steak and ale pie, and a pint of Theakstons for MrC and a large glass of shiraz for me. Followed by apple crumble and custard.
Old fashioned pub grub, but just what we needed. Would prefer shortcrust pastry but at £7.50 for the pie we can't grumble.

It will be an early night.
Now looking forward to tomorrow.
Will try and catch up with you all tomorrow.
