More NC500 planning

Jon has spent all his spare time today (plus some time that he should have been working!) at his computer. He has a couple of spreadsheets that detail the campsite locations, miles between each stop, and costs. The new NC500 map is really detailed, and the yellow stickers mark where they will stop. The sites are all now booked and paid for.

News from Hertfordshire is that Andy is fine to go ahead with this boys trip followed by his family holiday to Norfolk at half term. The next round of chemo, delayed by his unexpected contraction of the dreaded covid, will happen after that. So good news that the family, especially Polly, can stop worrying about that and Jon, Martin and Andy can get going Wednesday.

So I want to share a bit of detail for those following Andy's Antics. Wednesday Martin and Jon will arrive early in Cherry Green, fill up Jon's car and head up the A1. Lots of coffee stops on the motorway before their first booked stop at a Travelodge in Dunfermline. I booked a family room, and am hoping they will have a double and two pull out single beds. If not...well it will be a cosy night for the 3 of them! On Thursday, they will drive the 3 hours to Inverness, where they will pick up the motorhome, which will be home for the next 6 nights. Jon has booked their first campsite at Golspie another 71 miles up the coast.

I will share more of the route tomorrow. Jon has meals planned and a long shopping list, but I suspect the odd fish and chip supper won't be turned down.

I am really quite envious and I'm relying on Jon to assess the route to see what will be the best way for us to do it. Thinking a tent and the mini could be fun? Couldn't be any less comfortable than the fisherman's tent on Cromer beach for an illegal wild camping night out!

I had a morning at work until 2pm, then managed to get the last couple of hours off and took mum into Cromer. We went to all of the charity shops, plus QD. Then finished off in Morrisons. Home for pizza, expertly made by Mollie.

Now tv. Planning a morning on the allotment tomorrow and hoping to make it look tidy!
