We walked up to the coll that divides the East and West sections of the Bernia Ridge and began the scramble that is the start of the West Summit route. The main was taken from the top of that scramble and is looking back at the Eastern part.

I'd walked up to the start sweating buckets, Fi had hardly sweated and she arrived at the coll about 15 minutes before me. She is a machine! We climbed up the gully, probably equivalent to a Diff, and then the rest of the ridge was a mix of more moderate climbing, boulder hopping, using chains on a couple of exposed sections and easy scrambling. I felt very tired by the time I reached the summit, Fi was bright as a button, but that's her better level of fitness and the fact that I'm 17 years older!

Then began the descent to the ancient Fort... on horrible scree - well no scree is nice let's face it! Scree done, we joined a reasonable path which eventually took us back to the car. Tiring but a grand day out!

Extras:
Me approaching the summit.
Cloud coming from the south, but it cleared.
Fi at the top of the first gully.
Some of the western ridge taken from the Fort... but not in that order!
