The accidental finding

Two topiarised trees in a green graveyard

Painswick churchyard on a sunny afternoon. There is a legend that, of the 100 yew trees that are planted, 'the devil always takes one' so there are only ever 99 living trees. Perhaps the ground is poisoned.

I had about half an hour to spare in Painswick between buses, so I wandered around in the sunshine and eventually found a new-ish cafe that sold gooseberry ice cream. Ate a tub at the bus stop.

'Twas the taste of summer! Decent sized chunks of gooseberry were evident. Bliss was in the very heaven. .
We have decided, as a team, that we need to go to the local producer (Yoke House, Painswick ( and buy more. The flavours look divine.
