ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER FEW CLICKS! BCAM 2023, DAY 12

Hello Lovely Blippers,

I don’t often get the chance to write something, so thought I would tell you what has been happening in the HCB household.  A man arrived just before midday to fit some grab rails - but don’t get worried, these don’t actually grab YOU, but they are so that Mrs. HCB can get up the step into the kitchen, which is the way they go into their house, from the drive that goes under the carport.  

The man had several different sorts of grab rails but wanted to make sure that he fitted the right ones.  After some “humming and hahing” it was decided unanimously by the HCBs and Bob, the Builder - well that’s what he said his name was - that these angled ones would be the best.  We all left him to it and it was a good job he shut the door, because he made a LOT of mess because he had to drill into the bricks.

However, after Bob had fitted the first one, where I’m sitting in the extra - he knocked the door and when Mr. HCB came to see him, he said that they had a “wonky” house.  Mr. HCB said he wasn’t surprised as when he had put a mirror up in the bathroom, Mrs. HCB had grumbled at him that it wasn’t straight and now he knew it wasn’t his fault!  

Once Bob had finished and he cleared up all the orange mess, which had come out of the bricks, Mrs. HCB asked if we could please sit in his toolbox and he very kindly said we could.  Of course - and you know she would have to do this - she did explain to Bob about Blip - but there were so many tools and a big drill in there that we had a job to find room, but we managed.

What a lovely man Bob was and he has done a great job so I’m sure that Mrs. HCB will write to the lady at Occupational Therapy and let her know - because that’s what she does too - writes letters when she is happy with a job well done and the best thing is that this was done for free!.
