A view from Jeanneb

Early start

Our usual early Thursday walk. Dark when I got up and just a bit of light developing in the distinctly chilly morning sky as I walked up to the St Ives Estate.

We meet at 7.15 and this shot was taken as we walked up through the woods past Lady Blantyre’s Rock at 7.26 am.
A year ago this area was so wooded that we would have only had glimpses of a sunrise along this stretch of path but this picture highlights the lack of trees, after this summers cull of diseased trees, with just a few spindly pines remaining.

It turned into a lovely sunny day but with a cool edge. Spent  some time in the garden in the morning cutting a few summer plants back and deadheading. Felt a bit better for doing that as we were going to Ilkley Cinema this afternoon.

Rain on it’s way tomorrow but we may see some more sun over the weekend but with temperatures that tell us it really isn’t summer anymore, just as it should be.
