Female Goosander

The weather being much as yesterday, with 22mph wind from the SW and frequent showers, I headed down to the hide at the Loch of Ayre again. The open window was on the lea side so it was quite cosy. Much as yesterday's birds, I hadn't expected much would have moved on or arrived, given the conditions. New included- a male sparrowhawk on a lochside tree in the little wood, a beautiful male hen harrier, single raven and redwing, six swallows etc. Extra is of the rain. Back in Kirkwall, a whooper swan family was on the Peedie Sea, extra.
