A day in the life

Vanishing

My last day included a tour of Fuengirola with Peter, who’s been living here on and off fifteen years. He showed me some of the historical sites, like this one, on our way to the Roman stronghold on one of the high hills facing the Mediterranean. Mare Nostrum must have needed hundreds of this kind of fortresses in order to keep power over it. It didn’t help much though, wink wink to the military people out there. The view is from the fortress to the vanishing horizon. It’s been another hot day, lots of beer stops along the way. He also recommended several good restaurants and I’ve just come back from Dao’s, a fabulous Thai restaurant that I warmly recommend.
Now, to bed. Up at six thirty tomorrow. Bye bye Spain, for this time.
