Kayaking at Cowan lake

Thursday 12 October
With a beautiful very warm day on the cards, we headed to Cowan Lake to go kayaking. We usually go to Cowan Lake in the late summer, and kayak across the lake towards the campground and beach, where there is an inlet with masses of American lotus flowers. Since it is too late in the season for them, we decided to head in the other direction, towards the dam, where the colours seemed a bit more vibrant, and we discovered a couple of lovely sheltered inlets with beautiful reflections - see main photo in my collage. We saw numerous cormorants, and I was blessed with a beautiful capture of an Osprey. The wind picked up a bit, while we were out, so we were paddling against the wind coming back.
In the evening we had choir, but no handbells, as our director is still on vacation in Florida.
