Showy

I’ve never seen passion flowers quite as spectacular as this, and the plant was covered with them.

It doesn’t exactly represent my busy day, taken on a brief lunchtime stroll for some fresh air. An intensive day of learning lots and lots of notes. Our choir has grown during the two years I’ve missed — there are now 60 of us, and many new faces … some even young ones. Florence is full of verve and good humour. So I’m glad to be back even though the programme of German Romantic music is not my favourite genre.

Afterwards I drove hotfoot to my book group an hour away — by happy chance it was this weekend! We talked about The Buddha in the Attic, a short and unusual book about Japanese “photo brides” in the US that we all enjoyed.

Finally home, twelve hours after I left this morning. Exhausted! I did a bit of packing and ate some bits and pieces to finish off leftovers before bed. Back blipping from the train now!
