Handwoven

Yesterday evening, as our friends left, one of them, L, gave Martin and me each a package, saying  they were early Christmas presents but adding we might want to open them before 25th December.  So,  today (!),we unwrapped them and found she had handwoven a beautiful scarf for  each of us. I'm blipping my scarf here.
I knew L had been learning how to weave, but didn't realise how proficient she had become. She's always been very modest about her abilities, whether academic or creative. Thank you letters are on their way to her.
