Snuggly Ben

And it didn't rain today although the flood plain of the River Soar is inundated as we saw while driving south to Leicester. George and Kat had invited us to late Sunday lunch following Edward's nap. Ben the cat has been frequenting the house a bit more recently perhaps due to ill health and loud fireworks. He looked very snuggled on the settee throw.

A most enjoyable lunch of roast chicken, thank you Kat. The Yorkshire pudding defeated some of the takers. I couldn't eat any, more's the pity.

Len and I supplied dessert of fresh raspberries, crumbled meringue and best Lidl ice cream which we'd bought on the way there. That certainly went down well.

Kat lifted the blind of the front room so that the boys could look out at the fireworks.

As luck would, or would not, have it, the loudest one was set off just as we were walking to the car. George had to pick up Basil who was terrified by the noise but seems to have survived. He's currently dozing underneath my desk as I write this.
