I Witness

By KangaZu

Sunday ...

... at the zoo.

Today was absolutely gorgeous so we took ourselves to the Lehigh Valley Zoo.  And, of course, I took way too many pictures to settle on just one.  Please have a look full screen.

The most surprising thing we saw was this beautiful male monarch butterfly.  He seemed to be newly emerged from his chrysalis as he wasn't flying very well.  In fact, we had to 'rescue' him from the walkway that he was fluttering on.  We placed him well off the path to keep him safe.  I'm quite concerned for his safety as it's a long journey that he has ahead of him ... not sure that he will make it to Mexico safely.  Although, later on when we were in another part of the zoo we saw a monarch flying overhead ... thankfully going south.  It's a good chance it was this butterfly as I can't imagine there could have been a different one!  :-)

We made one stop on the way home from the zoo and spent the rest of the day relaxing.  I did a couple loads of wash and fixed pizza for supper.  And later we had chocolate almond flour cake for dessert ... made from scratch.

Backblipped: November 7 ... all caught up (except for my vacation pics!).
