A time for everything

Sunday afternoon walk at Sharon Woods

A chilly start followed by another pleasant sunny day, following our usual Sunday pattern, church followed by Bible study, then a light lunch, and an afternoon walk - today at Sharon Woods, where we were certainly not alone, enjoying the sunshine. We had an early dinner, then drove down to Calvary Episcopal church for a concert by a professional ensemble of singers, called Cincinnati Fusion, interspersed with organ pieces performed by a visiting guest organist, and a couple of pieces by an excellent High school choir, Winton Woods Varsity High School choir. This choir is largely coloured, and their pieces reflected this - a traditional spiritual and a traditional Haitian song - both brilliantly performed. As a final piece the two choirs combined for a wonderful and rousing arrangement of Come, thou fount of every blessing. The program as a whole was really varied and most enjoyable. Matt, a tenor in our choir sings with Cincinnati Fusion and had told us (the choir) about the concert. Unfortunately, we were the only ones to go and support him - the rest don’t know what they missed!
