We will remember them

Made FK a couple of fried eggs as extra breakfast this morning. In previous years many have fallen, needing medical assistance due to lack of breakfast. We had a 'how do you want your eggs' debate, as when he was younger he had a violent reaction where he ended up blue and floppy in A&E. I had to introduce eggs back into his diet very slowly and found scrambled eggs the safest option. Unwittingly depriving him of knowing all the wonderful ways of eggs!!
MrK and I went for coffee in the station, bumping into a lovely lady from WI who had come to watch the parade supporting her neice, also in air cadets.

We found our spot and watched the police handle someone who was sadly causing a disturbance. Much bigger police presence this year.

All sections were double the size and stretched much further from the cenotaph than usual. We sang loudly, prayed hard, and clapped vigorously when the troops marched up and back to the start point. All rain drenched, the skies cleared as troops were dismissed. FK had a special young man march next to him, who was in need of support and encouragement, which FK gave throughout finishing with feedback and praise. Proud on so many levels.

After lunch he went off to friends for a mammoth Monopoly game, while MrK and I watched the wonderful Warhorse film. Can't believe that had passed me by!
