Stuff and Nonsense

Who needs Snettisham?

On what will most likely be the best weather day of the week, we popped over to Hoylake again for the high tide. We were surprised at how big the flocks of knot have become after only a couple of weeks. Lots of new arrivals and the strong wind may well have kept them whirling away.
They were fantastic to watch and with so many gulls and cormorants sat on the tide line, it made for some interesting views. It is certainly our local rival to the Snettisham Spectaculars and a whole lot closer :)

We walked the length of the seafront at Hoylake up to see if the reported snow bunting from yesterday was around and lucky for us, it was :)
We had no trouble in finding it as when we got to the channel after the lifeboat station, there was a photographer laid prone in the wet sand taking pictures!!  I'm sure he got some nice shots, but I decided to stay upright on the promenade. I'd have never got up.....
