Siouxsie

Today was a day full of pretty damn good things. Clare drove us back to London and we met Elaine and Carl for an excellent mint milkshake. I then went and met Charlie at the V&A and we spent two hours in the fantastic David Bowie Is exhibition. I was expecting it to be good, but it was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Curatorially, it was really interesting, with some really unique methods of display that suited the content brilliantly. The one bad thing about it was that it just made us want need him to play live even more... we can dream, right? We then made our way to Southbank for a wander and some dinner before seeing Siouxsie at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Meltdown Festival. First up was Viv Albertine (from The Slits), who was feisty, funny and charming and then came Siouxsie. She was something else. The hall is huge, but the music filled it completely and everyone was on their feet and dancing, it was such a great atmosphere. It was a crazily good show. She is completely captivating. These two women (now 57 and 56) are saying, and fighting for/against things that are just as relevant, important and current as they were in the 70s. An inspiring night.
