Feels Goood

After the 'challenges' of the last three days we had a chillout day today.

Unusually, Mrs I woke me at 09.30 this morning with a welcome cuppa and a digestive biscuit.

Heaven.

This afternoon we took Hollie for a walk around the community park in Church Stretton.

We parked in a side road, and whilst putting on our boots we were engaged in friendly conversation by a local resident who was chatty and helpful with local knowledge. In the course of the conversation it dawned on us that we knew this man. And then that light bulb moment that so rarely occurs, recognition flooded over us. It was J, a friend from a long time ago. He and his wife L moved to Shropshire four years ago, and whilst we have continued to exchange Christmas cards we had not met face to face in over twenty years. His wife L came out and nearly fainted when she saw us!

We had an agreeable catchup and marvelled at the coincidence of us parking outside their house not knowing that this was where they had moved to.

A very happy moment.

Afterwards we convened at a brilliant tea rooms in Stretton where we had a light lunch and tea in china cups and saucers.

A splendid way to switch off from the roller coaster of the last few days.

I wonder if any keen eyed blippers know what the photo is!
