Wound up in Wexford

A viol consort

A concert this evening, given by Fretwork, in the splendid surroundings of St Peter's College Chapel in Wexford - one of a number of churches in the area designed by Pugin.

They played an interesting assortment of pieces ancient and modern.  When I took this snap, they were playing their instruments somewhat unconventionally, performing a version of Dave Brubeck's Take Five.

Earlier today, we wrestled, hopefully successfully, to extract the last few pounds from the investment company in the UK.  W rang, negotiated the security questions, and started the process, only for the phone connection to be lost.  When the agent called back, he had to go through the security questions again (and then again after another breakdown of phone connection!)  Fortunately, when it was my turn, the connection seemed to have stabilised.  The whole process took at least an hour.

We had intended to plant some bulbs but after that marathon, we hadn't the energy.  Oh well - another day.
