An ordinary life....

Good times...

Backblip

We are doing so well with holiday planning these days.  In the past we would end up leaving the house half an hour after we'd planned to arrive at our destination!  Today we planned to be at the holiday cottage at 3.30pm and we rocked up at 3.20pm :-)

Prior to that we had brunch at the golf club (saves clearing up :-) D got the car packed.  No idea how he managed to fit everything in without using the roof box, especially as we have Lola with us and she and her kit take up most of the boot.  He even managed to get his golf clubs in!

Anyhoo, said our goodbyes to Alan and off we went.  Drive down to northumberland was lovely.  A perfect autumnal day, blue skies and sunshine.  My blip is of the lane we drive up to get to the cottage.  It was hilarious as we were driving along and David suddenly announced "we've run out of road!" and sure enough we found ourselves on a farm track passing a lovely little (well quite large actually) pond then reaching the farm steading and the entrance to the cottage.

The cottage itself is amazing (converted small barn) with a fully enclosed garden so we can let Lola out and not have to stand watching over her.  It's clear the owners are dog lovers as they're are lovely doggy throws and blankets, food and water bowls, a spill mat and treats to name a few.

We arrived and got unpacked then Agnes and Adrian arrived just after 5pm.  We organised drinks and nibbles while they unpacked and we all settled down and relaxed and as it always is with out oldest friends, there was much laughter and reminiscing, and Lola was loving the extra attention.

Easy dinner of pizza.  Tesco delivery arriving in the morning.  The cottage owners left an amazing welcome pack of milk, wine, bread, tea, filter coffee, biscuits (savour and sweet), muesli and crisps.

I think we're going to like it here :-))
