Coffee in the woods

We woke up to frost this morning. I was thinking about going out early to photograph the sunrise at Bushy Park, but on such a clear day as today the sunrise was not very exciting - although we had some incredible ones earlier this week.

After breakfast we walked at Norbury Park. We enjoy this walk and always stop for a cappuccino at the mobile coffee place in the woods, where they have a proper bean to cup coffee machine set up in the back of their Landrover. You can see Xena waiting patiently for her order! It was busy today as it has become very popular, and there were many dogs around so Xena had fun playing with them. It was sunny and bright all day, in fact it was so clear that we could see London, 25 miles away! See the extra - you can see The Shard on the right of the tall buildings on the left, and also see Canary Wharf on the right side of the scene.

After our walk we had lunch at home. Inca has been working all day, while Tommy went climbing this morning - he got into climbing at university and has found a climbing gym nearby so can continue doing it.

After lunch I made a lemon and polenta cake, it is a Nigella recipe and quite delicious, made with polenta and ground almonds (so gluten free) and then drizzled with a lemon syrup after baking.

Tonight we are getting take aways from a very good Indian restaurant in Esher, they say it is the best in Surrey and their food is excellent. Not the usual gloopy curry take away stuff but rather Indian food well cooked.

The Black Friday deals have been fantastic this year. I have just extended my annual Adobe plan for Photoshop, Light Room, Camera raw etc through Amazon at nearly half the price of the usual subscription. Quite a saving! If anyone is interested you buy it on Amazon and then are given a code to redeem in Adobe. I pay annually but it can also be done for monthly subscriptions.

Poor Gavin spent the entire afternoon and into the dark putting up the Christmas winter lights. It was cold to be outside for so long doing this job.
